About Me:

Hi, my name is Jonathan Welch. I am a farmer of the Ozark mountains of the South. I am 35 and have a family of 5 my sons, James and William, my daughter Clair, and my wife Samantha, whom I love so much. I am uneducated because I've spent my entire life on the farm. I am hoping to pass down my farm to one of my sons while the other and my daughter go to our communities school. And then maybe get into college and get out into the world to have a good wealthy life. Right now my family and I work all day on the farm to eat each day. We work for 6 days a week and then attend church. We are strong believers of the evangelical Christian faith, which means we do not believe we can achieve heaven through good works although one still must be an overall good, forgiving, wise person in order for God to forgive us and let us into heaven. Also we must believe in Jesus Christ and accept him as our lord and savior. Our small and isolated but proud community meets every harvest to have a small party. We have fires, eat our crops, tell stories to the kids and barter for goods that we did not grow. We especially trade crops but without currency because there is no use for it here. Our diet is anything that we grow on the farms. Usually corn, potatoes, squash, tomatoes, green bean, tomatoes, and the occasional animal that is killed through hunting or raising them up domestically, such as cow, goat, coyote, not likely but a bear has been done, and a deer. I have no real political interests because in the end everyone is still divided. Everyone should be one body of democracy making decisions that are best for the country and not the political party. I am more for a Union candidate because they are mostly against slavery, which means they are also against large plantations. The large plantation owners don't do anything and yet they make more money and live in larger houses than anybody which doesn't seem fair. They should be made to do a hard days work just like anybody else has to and then everyone will be equal. Also slavery should be abolished because it threatens Americas very establishment of independence. We are the land of the free and it doesn't make sense to me to have slaves. It doesn't make sense. Also it makes us dependent of other lands to provide the slaves as well. In turn I would vote for anyone against sectionalism, slavery, political parties and large plantation owners. I am for those who are Christian as well.
